I can’t even begin to tell you just how amazing it is to be a Quad Cities Wedding Photographer. It’s couples that like this one that makes it all worthwhile. This couple and their families, their bridal party, and their guests were all so great to work with. This wedding was held at Pinnacle Country Club in Milan, IL, and wow…what a wonderful venue!
We were all pretty worried about the weather yesterday. I woke up to drizzle and clouds. I was thinking of every option I could to get the most beautiful portraits for this couple should we have to be inside for everything. But….it was like magic…as we approached the point of the day where we wanted to be outside, everything was gorgeous. The views of the outdoor ceremony were breathtaking!
We did a first look with the bride and her dad and the couple’s little boy. It was so sweet to see all their faces as everyone was all dressed up and ready for the big day. Once they had their hugs and their sweet moment, we brought out the groom. There is something about the first look that just gets me every time. I LOVE to see both the bride and groom’s faces as they see each other for the first time on the day they both have been dreaming of. It gives me butterflies every time!
After the first look, we did several of their bridal portraits. It’s so nice to do the majority of these ahead of time as there’s not as much stress and the bride and groom can relax and enjoy each other before the celebration begins.
And then it was time for their gorgeous ceremony. Again, I can’t even begin to tell you how beautiful it was. This bride and groom framed the sweetest message asking their guests to not take any pictures during the ceremony and just be present with them. As a photographer, I LOVE THIS! There isn’t a single picture from their ceremony that has someone’s phone up in the air or their camera in the aisle. Their guests respected their wishes, and it made for the most incredible pictures.
And then for the icing on the cake, after the ceremony each of the couples in the bridal party loaded up in a golf cart and headed out for more pictures! My assistant and I had a cart, and we followed along and captured some pretty fun shots of everyone on the carts. We were able to take a few moments at some of the different holes to utilize their gorgeous landscapes for some really beautiful portraits.
I’m really, really happy with the way the photos turned out for this couple. I truly appreciate you guys selecting Amanda Oakes Photography to capture your gorgeous wedding day!
Please, feel free to take a look through some of the sneak peeks and leave the bride and groom well wishes in the comments.

Gorgeous! So glad the weather cleared so you could make use of that amazing venue. Love that the flower girl has no shoes!
